Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis 1 to join our culinary team in a dynamic kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the food industry and a desire to develop their culinary skills while contributing to our fine dining experience. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining high standards of food handling.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
- Ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Support the team by performing various tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Participate in daily prep work and assist with special events as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within the fine dining sector.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
