Chinese language teacher

Position: Online Chinese Language Teacher
Employer: Zahara Education, Sharjah / Remote (UAE)
Mode: Fully online or blended (if needed)
Students: Kids, Teens, Adults — various levels (beginner to advanced)

Responsibilities

• Deliver online Chinese language lessons across all four skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing.
• Prepare lesson plans tailored to student levels and goals.
• Use digital teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet, interactive whiteboards, etc.).
• Assess student progress via quizzes, assignments, speaking practice, and give feedback.
• Maintain communication with students/parents about performance and areas for improvement.
• Adapt materials and pace to student needs (young learners vs. adult learners).
• Participate in faculty meetings/training to keep up with Zahara’s teaching standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese, Education, or related field.
• Teaching qualification or certificate (TESOL/TEFL experience is a plus if also having relevant Chinese language teaching credential).
• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin (or relevant dialect) and strong spoken & written proficiency in English.
• Minimum 2–5 years experience teaching Chinese as a foreign/second language, ideally in online settings.
• Familiarity with use of technology for teaching (online platforms, digital content creation).
• Good communication skills and ability to engage students online.

Terms & Conditions

• Contract type: Part-time or full-time (depending on hours)
• Remuneration: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience
• Working hours: Flexible, with some slots possibly during evenings or weekend times to accommodate students in different schedules
• Training: Induction into Zahara’s curriculum, observation & feedback sessions

Pay: AED100.00 - AED200.00 per month
