CHURCH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT JOB POSTING

LoveJoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River, Illinois is looking for our next Church Administrative Assistant to fulfill the duties and responsibilities found in the attached Job Description. The Church Administrative Assistant will be under contract to work 20 per week with an hourly rate of pay based on experience.
We are open to negotiating which days of the week will be work days.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with using accounting software and basic accounting principles is required.
- Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with using Google Docs is also preferred.
- Experience with filing payroll taxes is required.
- Knowledge of or be willing to be trained on the Church Windows system and the Vanco system
- Ability to utilize the computer system and other office equipment
- Ability to perform office administrative duties
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Possesses personal communication skills to act as the liaison to those, both internally and externally, who interact with the church by telephone, electronically, or in person
- Capable of handling sensitive situations in a confidential manner.
- Background check is required
OVERSIGHT:
- Immediate oversight is by the Head of Staff with ultimate oversight by the Session via the Personnel Committee
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Staff and other members of the staff.
- Perform Finance Related Duties which include maintaining payroll, reimbursements, and accounting.
- Receive and handle incoming calls, intercepting, when possible, those calls that are marketing related or otherwise inappropriate to transfer to the Head of Staff
- When necessary, correspond and communicate with church committees as well as with companies and organizations with which the church is associated
- Take care of scheduling appointments with outside maintenance vendors.
- Prepare multiple types of correspondence
- Maintain filing system - File paperwork as needed and shred documents that are no longer needed
- The Church Administrative Assistant will be expected to observe strict confidentiality regarding all information involving church members.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Head of Staff with ultimate approval by the Session via the Personnel Committee.
- Perform the specific duties outlined in the following “Office Schedule of Work.”
