Summary of Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Clerk performs a variety of administrative, general clerical, bookkeeping services and categorizes documents, exhibits, report's records and confidential records relating to court cases and files for the District Clerk office. The work involves performing micrographic work for the preservation and archiving of permanent records. Individuals in this position serve at the pleasure of the current elected official.

Performs routine office procedures such as answers telephone, accepts payments, issues receipts, processes mail, photocopies, scans documents and locates files and case information for attorneys, District Attorney, state agencies and the general public

Provides general clerical and administrative support for District Judges, County Court at Law, Attorney General Judge, and CPS Court at Law, to include: answering correspondence; preparing, maintaining and distributing court agendas, public notices, surveys and reports

Maintains and processes all Jurors and Grand Jurors files, excuses and payments

Assists with coordinating Jury selection process

Maintains all civil court files in accordance with state statue Local Government Code 201-205

Keeps and protects the Civil Records of the District Courts, County Court at Law, Attorney General Judge, CPS Court at Law in compliance with the State Constitution and State Statutes as they relate to serving the citizens, and by fulfilling the statutory duties required as the custodian of such records through the promotion and direction of professionalism and cooperation among the District Clerk's staff

Disburses bonds of all child support payments by the Courts

Collects District Clerk fees and Court costs and County Court at Law civil fees, bond fee, and expunction fees
