Civil Engineer

Job Summary

Lead and manage civil works for critical airport facilities with superior quality, functionality, and compliance with international standards while maintaining operational reliability through effective CMMS (Maximo).

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all civil-related activities within the airport facility.
• Oversee execution and maintenance of interior finishes including flooring, wall finishes, ceiling systems, doors, and associated joinery works, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
• Manage and inspect exterior works such as façade systems, protective coatings, waterproofing, shading structures, and canopies.
• Ensure compliance with international standards for surface preparation and coating inspections — including ASTM D610, ASTM D714, and ISO 4628 (Parts 1–5) to assess and prevent defects such as rusting, blistering, cracking, and flaking.
• Oversee installation and maintenance of roof systems including RCC slabs, standing seam metal sheets, car park shades, and external canopy structures, ensuring watertight integrity and long-term reliability.
• Verify welding and structural connections in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.1M Structural Welding Code – Steel.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors’ work, adherence to approved drawings, specifications, budgets, and timelines. Evaluate performance to maintain consistent service quality.
• Conduct routine inspections to monitor ongoing civil works, verify compliance with approved procedures, and initiate corrective actions for deviations in quality, safety, or performance.
• Manage project budgets and schedules for civil maintenance activities. Identify potential operational risks in critical facilities and implement preventive maintenance and mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and technicians. Foster collaboration with MEP, structural, and asset management teams for integrated facility performance.
• Stay updated with emerging materials, technologies, and sustainable construction practices applicable to airport facilities to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Administer and manage the CMMS for civil assets, accurate data entry, quality control, and efficient planning. Analyse trends for root cause identification, implement preventive measures, and track asset performance for continuous reliability improvement.

• Abide by the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality, (HSEQ) policy, procedures necessary for the good conduct and safety of the workplace. It is a requirement and moral obligation of each employee to be actively committed and accountable to the compliance of Enova’s HSEQ policy, operating procedures, as well as being compliant to local legislation. The Employee shall seek clarification and guidance in specific cases or whenever one feels necessary.
• Is able to demonstrate correct use of PPE knows specific reasons for using PPE items and what their properties and limitations are. Knows how to wear/use PPE items correctly. Knows how to select and maintain the proper PPE for each job/task.
• Able to carry out safety responsibilities regarding potential accidents and health hazards whilst working in the workplace, with tools and equipment, with materials and substances, with movement/storage of materials and by manual handling and mechanical lifting
• Knowledge of how to act safely in a busy airside environment and maintain personal safety for self and others. Awareness of what constitutes a ‘safe act’ and an ‘unsafe act’
• Knows how to assess FOD & do job safety analysis during job activity and report.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a closely related field.

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a civil engineering role within critical facility management, with strong expertise in building structures, architectural works, and interior and exterior finishes.
