Core Duties and Roles
- Design and Engineering:
- Structural Analysis: Performing calculations to determine the strength, stiffness, and durability of fiberglass structures.
- Drafting and Design: Preparing detailed fabrication and shop drawings for products and molds using AutoCAD (2D/3D).
- Compliance: Ensuring designs comply with safety standards, building regulations, and project specifications.
- Manufacturing and Quality Control (QA/QC):
- Production Monitoring: Coordinating with production teams to ensure timely fabrication.
- Quality Inspection: Inspecting materials and finishes prior to handover.
- Testing: Testing fiberglass products for structural integrity.
- Site Installation and Project Management:
- Installation Oversight: Overseeing GRP/GRP installation on-site.
- Technical Support: Providing technical guidance to labor teams.
- Documentation: Preparing site documentation, inspection reports, and work logs.
- Project Estimation and Planning:
- Material Takeoffs: Estimating material costs and labor requirements.
- Planning: Scheduling and managing project tasks efficiently.
Key Requirements & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Specific experience in GRP/GRC/GRP installation and design.
- Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD and sometimes BIM tools.
- Skills: Strong understanding of GRP installation methods, architectural details, and structural analysis.
