We are currently seeking a Civil / Finishing Engineer - Facilities
for one of our very well-known client, to be based in their Dubai office.
Role Purpose:
The Civil/Finishing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and executing civil, structural, and finishing works within the facilities portfolio. The role ensures that all maintenance, repair, renovation, and finishing activities are carried out in line with company standards, safety guidelines, and quality requirements, supporting the effective operation and upkeep of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Maintenance
-
Supervise day-to-day civil and finishing maintenance activities, including carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting, plastering, flooring, roofing, and other building fabric works.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify defects, wear and tear, and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules for civil and finishing works.

Monitor civil-related systems including walls, ceilings, flooring, roofing, doors, windows, partitions, and external facades.
2. Renovation & Projects
-
Plan, execute, and supervise renovation, refurbishment, and fit-out works.

Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and material submittals for finishing projects.

Ensure timely completion of assigned projects within budget and quality standards.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers for execution of works.
3.Technical & Quality Control

Perform root cause analysis for recurring defects and propose long-term solutions.

Ensure civil/finishing works adhere to local building codes, standards, and company specifications.

Review contractor workmanship and materials to meet quality benchmarks.

Prepare snag lists and supervise rectifications before handover.
4.Health, Safety & Compliance

Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Ensure safe working practices at all times for in-house staff and contractors.

Support audits and inspections related to civil and finishing works.
5.Reporting & Documentation

Maintain records of inspections, work orders, and maintenance reports.

Assist in preparing budgets and cost estimates for civil and finishing works.

Provide technical reports, condition assessments, and recommendations for asset lifecycle planning.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of civil and finishing materials, standards, and installation techniques.

Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.

Familiarity with CAFM systems (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) and work order management.

Excellent project management and contractor supervision skills.

Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Strong communication and reporting skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
-
+7 years of relevant experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or finishing works.

Experience in residential/commercial facilities preferred.
-
Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
-
Certification in facilities management or health & safety is an added advantage
