Job Purpose:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for conducting technical assessments and evaluations of flood-affected infrastructure, including buildings, roads, water supply systems, and community facilities. The role focuses on identifying structural damages, estimating repair needs, and supporting the preparation of rehabilitation and reconstruction plans for the affected areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed site assessments in flood-affected areas of Multan, Muzaffargarh, and Bahawalpur.
  • Inspect public and private infrastructure to determine the extent of damage and safety risks.
  • Collect and document technical data, including measurements, photographs.
  • Prepare assessment checklists and maintain accurate field records.
  • Develop technical assessment reports with recommendations for repair, reconstruction, or retrofitting.
  • Estimate quantities, costs, and timelines for rehabilitation works.
  • Support the preparation of BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications for proposed interventions.
  • Identify infrastructure priorities based on severity of damage and community needs.
  • Coordinate closely with local authorities, community representatives, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team, including social mobilizers, WASH engineers, and field officers.
  • Provide technical input during coordination meetings and assessment briefings.
  • Ensure all field assessments follow engineering, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, especially related to safety, security, and code of conduct in fieldwork.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in disaster response, infrastructure assessment, or rehabilitation projects.
  • Preferably having a Prior experience with INGOs, NGOs, or emergency response projects.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic GIS or survey tools.

Strong understanding of structural safety, drainage systems, and flood resilience measures.

Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and BOQs.
