Job Purpose:
To plan, design, supervise, and execute infrastructure and utilities works including roads, drainage, water supply, sewage, irrigation, and other civil components. The Civil Engineer will ensure that all works are executed in compliance with project specifications, drawings, standards, and within approved timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities for infrastructure and utilities projects.
- Review and interpret design drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure that works are carried out as per approved construction drawings, specifications, and QCS standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution of project deliverables.
- Inspect site works to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and review method statements, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Plan material, manpower, and equipment requirements and report shortages to the Project Manager.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and verify measurements for billing and progress reporting.
- Liaise with local authorities for inspection, approval, and utility connections (Ashghal, Kahramaa, etc.).
- Identify and resolve technical issues, conflicts, or design discrepancies.
- Support the QA/QC and HSE teams in maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Maintain updated project records, reports, and documentation for progress and compliance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure and utilities projects such as:
- Roads and highways
- Drainage and sewer networks
- Water supply systems
- Stormwater and irrigation networks
- Utilities relocation and coordination
- Experience working in Qatar / GCC with knowledge of Ashghal standards preferred.
- Familiar with QCS (Qatar Construction Standards) and relevant international codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
