Civil Engineer, Junior

The Opportunity

Tetra Tech is adding a Junior Civil-Structural Engineer to our Power Division team in our Salisbury, North Carolina office. This role will support the design and development of civil-structural engineering projects, working closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on industry experience.

Your Role

• Prepare engineering deliverables for equipment support structures, foundations, site grading, access roads, and site drainage.

• Develop conceptual studies, plans, maps, and layouts for civil-structural projects.

• Review and interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical investigation reports.

• Perform technical calculations, material take-offs, and feasibility estimates.

• Conduct field site inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.

• Estimate project materials, equipment, and labor costs to support feasibility analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil-Structural Engineering.

• 1-3 years of related experience (co-op or work experience in electrical substations or transmission line projects is preferred).

• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Training is preferred.

• Knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles, practices, and design methods.

• Experience with STAAD.Pro, MathCAD, and/or PLS-CADD is an asset.

• Proficiency in computer-based design tools.
