Position Summary:
As a CAD Designer, you&rsquo;ll play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into buildable, high-quality plans. You&rsquo;ll support the design and documentation of water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure projects, working alongside engineers and project managers to deliver accurate, detailed drawings that align with both client and Tetra Tech standards.
This position offers exposure to a variety of project types &mdash; from pipelines and site grading to drainage and roadway improvements &mdash; giving you the opportunity to apply your technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D while contributing to impactful community projects. 
Essential Functions:<ul><li>
Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to set up, prepare, and manage construction drawings.</li><li>
Prepare dimensional drawings and modify base files using AutoCAD Civil 3D.</li><li>
Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes.</li><li>
Create and maintain electronic file structures and naming conventions in accordance with company standards.</li><li>
Prepare project documents from start to finish with professional-quality output.</li><li>
Manage multiple active projects and meet deadlines efficiently.</li><li>
Adhere to CAD standards (Tetra Tech or client-specific).</li><li>
Work collaboratively on drawings that meet and exceed client requirements during bid and submittal phases.</li></ul> 
Required Qualifications:<ul><li>
Associate degree in CAD Drafting or a related field, or completion of a certified Autodesk Civil 3D training program, plus at least five years of relevant work experience.</li><li>
Proven proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design, including feature lines, grading objects, survey points, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks.</li><li>
Experience using Civil 3D labels.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills &mdash; interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.</li><li>
Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and general PC usage.</li><li>
Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures.</li><li>
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage time effectively.</li><li>
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li></ul> 
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Experience designing ADA curb ramps, utilities, drainage, and roadway elements.</li><li>
Familiarity with ADA design parameters for roadways, streets, and site grading.</li><li>
Ability to generate layout drawings from sketches or specifications.</li></ul> 
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.</li><li>
Occasional site or office visits may be required to coordinate with project teams or review design documentation.</li></ul>

Work is typically performed in a professional office environment using a computer for extended periods, with a moderate noise level. 
Salary: $28.50 to $40.33 dependent on experience

Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Mechanical Engineer to our Global Services Design Team . The location of this position is in Jubail, Saudi Arabia and estimated duration of the assignment is one year.

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:<ul><li>Serve as the on-site representative of the Designer of Record (DOR) for all mechanical and related systems during commissioning</li><li>Act as the design authority in the field for mechanical/HVAC and related building systems, interpreting drawings and specifications for USACE, the commissioning agent, and the Contractor</li><li>Review commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules prepared by the Contractor/commissioning firm to confirm they adequately demonstrate compliance with the contract documents and design intent</li><li>Attend and participate in commissioning meetings with USACE, the Contractor, commissioning firm, subcontractors, and TAB providers, focusing on design intent and system performance requirements</li><li>Observe pre-functional checks, equipment start-up, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing performed by the Contractor/commissioning firm</li><li>Evaluate test results and field conditions to confirm installed systems comply with the Designer of Record&rsquo;s drawings and specifications, the Owner&rsquo;s Project Requirements and Basis of Design, and all applicable codes and standards</li><li>Support construction administration activities related to commissioning, including reviewing relevant shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for commissioning impacts and providing input on system optimization and performance</li><li>Prepare clear written technical reports, meeting notes, and field correspondence summarizing commissioning status, key issues, and recommended actions</li><li>Adhere to all health, safety, and security protocols required by the company and client and model safe work practices on active construction sites</li><li>Perform additional duties as required</li></ul>
Note: This position does not perform commissioning execution or test implementation. Commissioning activities and tests are performed by USACE/contractor-furnished commissioning personnel. This role focuses on design interpretation, oversight, and technical support during commissioning
Required Qualifications:<div>
We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about civil engineering and thrive in collaborative environments. Ideal candidates will possess: 
<ul><li>Educational Background: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program</li><li>Experience: 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in building mechanical systems design and/or field engineering, and direct experience performing, supporting or overseeing commissioning activities on new construction projects, preferably in a design-side or DOR-support role</li><li>Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering required</li><li>Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, OPR, and Basis of Design documents; Familiarity with BAS/BMS systems and control sequences</li><li>Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, with the ability to create, edit, and manage documents and spreadsheets</li><li>Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Team Collaboration: Enthusiasm for contributing to team projects.</li><li>US Citizen/Background Check: Due to the clients we serve, this position requires US Citizenship. Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc.</li><li>Successfully obtaining medical clearance, by our third party medical consultant, as required by this position</li><li>Driver&rsquo;s License: Ability to drive on regular basis for business purposes is required. To do this, you will need a valid driver&rsquo;s license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and maintain a safe driving record.
</li></ul></div>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Prior experience serving as Designer of Record or design-team representative during commissioning for USACE, DoD, or other U.S. federal projects</li><li>Experience with multi-facility or campus-wide commissioning programs, including coordination of multiple concurrent systems and buildings</li><li>Previous overseas project experience, particularly in the Middle East or similar high-heat climates</li><li>Familiarity with USACE processes, including submittal review, RFIs, and construction administration procedures</li><li>Completion of USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) training or similar is a plus</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting field observations.</li><li>Ability to climb stairs and ladders, enter mechanical rooms, access rooftops, and navigate uneven terrain to reach equipment and system locations</li><li>Use hands/fingers to handle or feel. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.</li></ul>
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:<ul><li>Construction Site Environment</li><li>Majority of work occurs on or around an active construction site in various stages of completion.</li><li>Exposure to construction-related noise, dust, fumes, and vibration.</li><li>Regular interaction with contractors, equipment, and construction activities.</li><li>Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, safety footwear, and hearing protection as needed</li><li>Office Environment. Work will be split between a project office/field office environment (for document review, reporting, and meetings) and field/site locations (for witnessing tests and observing system performance).</li><li>Travel and Living Conditions. Requires international travel and deployment for up to one year; long-haul flights and time-zone changes should be expected; Employee will typically reside in secure, project-approved accommodations (e.g., compound or similar housing)</li></ul>
Additional Information:<ul><li>Employment Type. The position is full time regular, 40 hours per week. Additional paid overtime is available with manager approval.</li><li>Work Schedule. Standard hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm six days per week</li><li>Work Location. The work location is Jubail. Saudi Arabia.</li><li>Travel: International travel required, must have valid passport with two years remaining before expiration.</li><li>Salary and Benefits. The base salary range for this position is $145,000 to $169,000. Additional allowances will also be provided including pay for sixth work day at standard base hourly rate, pier diem for first 30 days while in temporary housing, Cost of Living Allowance, In Country Allowance , Post Hardship Differential Allowance and Separate Maintenance Allowance in accordance with DSSR guidelines. In addition, housing will be provided.
