Civil Engineer(Railway)

Job Experience: 5 to 8 years

Job Summary:

A Railway Civil Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and safety of railway infrastructure such as tracks, stations, bridges, tunnels, platforms, drainage systems, and metro structures. The role ensures smooth, safe, and efficient railway operations in urban and suburban environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Design

• Design railway civil structures (stations, platforms, foot over bridges, tunnels, depots).
• Prepare drawings, estimates, and technical reports.
• Assist in metro and suburban rail expansion projects.

Construction & Project Execution

• Supervise construction of tracks, bridges, buildings, and metro infrastructure.
• Ensure work follows Indian Railways standards, safety rules, and timelines.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, and other engineering departments.

Maintenance & Inspection

• Inspect railway assets for structural safety and wear.
• Plan and execute repairs, rehabilitation, and strengthening works.
• Monitor drainage systems, embankments, and earthwork stability (important in Kolkata’s monsoon climate).

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with railway safety regulations and government norms.
• Conduct site safety checks and risk assessments.
• Prepare reports on structural condition and safety audits.

Coordination & Documentation

• Work with signaling, electrical, and track departments.
• Maintain records, progress reports, and cost estimates.
• Assist senior engineers in project planning and approvals.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
