Civil Estimator-Interior Fit-Out

We are looking for a skilled Civil Estimator – Interior Fit-Out to join a reputable organization in Qatar. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project drawings, and coordinating closely with project teams and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and proven experience in interior fit-out estimation. Candidates who can perform well in a fast-paced environment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Cost Estimation:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out projects by reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other project resources.

Quantity Take-offs:

• Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and design documents to determine material and labor requirements.

Bid Preparation:

• Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals, ensuring clarity in pricing, timelines, assumptions, and exclusions.

Market Research:

• Monitor market trends, material prices, and labor rates to ensure estimates reflect current cost conditions.

Supplier & Vendor Coordination:

• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and incorporate cost-effective solutions into estimates.

Project Risk Assessment:

• Identify potential risks and uncertainties and recommend appropriate contingencies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with project managers, architects, designers, and internal teams to align estimates with project scope, schedule, and client expectations.

Cost Tracking & Adjustments:

• Review and revise estimates throughout the project lifecycle due to scope changes or updated information.

Value Engineering:

• Propose alternative materials, construction methods, or solutions to optimize costs without compromising quality.

Client Interaction:

• Present cost estimates to clients and respond to queries regarding pricing, scope, and assumptions.

Document Management:

• Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, project documentation, and correspondence.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Civil Estimator, preferably in interior fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards related to interior works.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools, along with advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
