The Civil Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting all civil construction activities for the SWRO desalination project in Fujairah, UAE. The role ensures that all site works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The Civil Inspector will support the QA/QC team and work closely with contractors and engineers to maintain compliance and high construction standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct routine site inspections of civil works including foundations, concrete structures, pipelines, tanks, and marine works (intake/outfall).
- Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Verify alignment, levels, dimensions, and structural integrity of works.
- Witness and record tests such as concrete pouring, compaction, and material testing.
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, contractors, and site engineers.
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe work practices on site.
- Review method statements and inspection test plans (ITPs) prior to execution.
- Support handover inspections and project close-out documentation.
- Assist in resolving site issues related to civil construction.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in civil inspection works for construction or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in SWRO desalination or large water treatment projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of concrete works, structural inspection, and marine construction.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (ACI, ASTM, BS).
- Experience working in the Middle East, preferably UAE.
- Good understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection protocols, and documentation.
- Certification in quality inspection or QA/QC (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site teams.
