Civil Litigation Case Manager and Paralegal

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Litigation Case Manager and Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The employee will work directly with the managing member of the law firm as well as other staff and contract attorneys as needed. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet our clients’ needs. The work associated with this position is performed through a combination of on-site work with some remote flexibility, with a minimum expectation of four days per week in person, depending on operational needs and project requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive case management and paralegal support to a small team of attorneys, including maintaining case management systems, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and tracking deadlines.
  • Report directly to the Managing Member and provide regular updates on case statuses, priorities, and deadlines, both directly and through project management tools such as Asana.
  • Manage case progression and coordinate daily case activities, including client communications, deadline verification, document organization, docketing case events, and proactive status reporting to staff.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
  • Draft, proofread, and finalize correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare, review, and file pleadings and court submissions in compliance with applicable rules and deadlines.
  • Organize and prepare materials and exhibits for hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations.
  • Support all phases of discovery, including drafting written discovery, managing document collection and review, maintaining databases, preparing privilege logs, coordinating vendors, and scheduling and tracking depositions.
  • Conduct legal and factual research and synthesize findings into clear, concise work product.
  • Prepare summaries, timelines, memoranda, and reports to support case strategy and development.
  • Assist with witness interviews and client intake/screening processes.
  • Perform additional administrative and case-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal and office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and time and billing systems.
  • Experience with case management and workflow tools such as Clio Manage and Asana preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and Washington State court rules, including applicable local rules.
  • Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal skills.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Civil Litigation Paralegal: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)
