Job Title: Civil Procurement Engineer

Experience: 5–10 Years
Industry: EPC – Civil Construction
Location: Chennai (Corporate Office)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Procurement Engineer to manage and coordinate the procurement activities for our EPC civil projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of civil construction materials, vendor management, and contract negotiation, ensuring timely procurement aligned with project cost and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of civil construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, structural items, and finishing materials.
  • Prepare and review BOQs, RFQs, and comparative statements for vendor evaluation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and subcontractors based on technical, commercial, and quality criteria.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with Project Planning, Engineering, and Site Execution teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure timely release of purchase orders (POs) and follow-up on dispatch and delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, vendor performance, and material documentation.
  • Support project execution teams in resolving material-related issues and ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Liaise with finance and logistics departments for invoice clearance and material tracking.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, standards, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP / Tactive / Oracle), and procurement documentation.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of contracting, cost control, and market trends in the construction industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
  • Postgraduate in Construction Management or Materials Management (added advantage).
  • Prior experience in EPC / Infrastructure / Industrial / Building Construction projects is essential.
