Job description
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, quality assurance (QA) policies, performance standards, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client Interaction: Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements while representing them in the field.
- Quality Control: Perform overall quality control of the work by monitoring budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance; report regularly on project status.
- Team Management: Assign responsibilities within the project team and mentor team members to enhance their skills.
- Technical Support: Cooperate and communicate effectively with project managers and other participants to provide assistance and technical support as needed.
- Review Engineering Deliverables: Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
Skills Requirements
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: Proven working experience as a Project Engineer with at least 8-9years in the construction industry is preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD; familiarity with MS Office Suite tools is essential. Experience with scheduling software like Primavera (P6) is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities are critical for effective interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership capabilities along with decision-making skills are necessary for managing teams effectively.
Additional Qualifications
- Current engineer license may be required depending on jurisdiction.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to civil engineering projects is crucial.
