The Civil QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all civil and structural works are executed in compliance with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements. The role involves performing inspections, preparing quality documentation, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and ensuring adherence to the project’s quality management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor the project’s Quality Control Plan and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of civil and structural works (concrete, rebar, formwork, masonry, finishing, etc.) in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Review and verify material approvals, test results, and supplier certificates before use on-site.
  • Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentations such as ITPs, checklists, inspection reports, and NCRs.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure that all works are performed according to approved method statements and procedures.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment as per project requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to quality systems.
  • Report quality performance and highlight recurring issues to management for corrective action.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental policies during all quality control activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with relevant experience min. 7 years in QA/QC roles within building construction projects in Qatar or GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of QCS standards, international codes, and construction materials testing.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing ITPs, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC documentation systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • MMUP/UPDA certification is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
