Civil QC Inspector

JOB TITLE: Civil QC Inspector (Short Term)
LOCATION : Ras Abu Fontas
REPORTING TO: Project Manager / QA/QC Manager
CONTRACT DURATION: 2 Months (Extendable based on project requirements)
WORK SCHEDULE: 6 Days per week | 10 Hours per day

1.0 JOB PURPOSE

The Civil QC Inspector will ensure that all civil engineering works at the Ras Abu Fontas project are executed in strict compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and international quality standards. The role requires immediate mobilization to support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities managed by DANEM, as well as ongoing site quality control.

2.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Control & Assurance

• Inspect all incoming civil materials (concrete, steel, formwork, backfill materials) for compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Perform and document all site quality control tests, including slump tests, cube tests, compaction tests, and material verification.
• Monitor all civil construction activities including excavation, backfilling, formwork, reinforcement, concreting, and finishing works.
• Review and verify shop drawings and material submittals against contract requirements.

Inspection & Testing

• Prepare Requests for Inspection (RFI) and coordinate with Consultant/Client for inspections and approvals.
• Witness and document all field and laboratory tests.
• Ensure all works are inspected and approved prior to covering (hold points).

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed daily site reports and inspection records.
• Prepare and maintain the "Inspector's Daily Log" and ensure all quality checklists are signed off.
• Assist in the preparation of "As-Built" drawings and final documentation packages.

FAT Coordination

• Liaise with the client to facilitate Factory Acceptance Tests for equipment and materials.
• Review FAT procedures and ensure all tested items meet technical specifications before shipment to site.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all quality procedures are followed without compromising site HSE rules.
• Immediately report any non-conformances to the QC Manager and assist in preparing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective action plans.

3.0 QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in Civil QC, specifically in infrastructure, water treatment plants, or large-scale construction projects.
• Certification: ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Certified QA/QC training.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in interpreting civil/structural drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with material testing (Concrete, Soil, Asphalt).
• Knowledge of international codes (ASTM, BS, ACI).

4.0 COMPETENCIES

• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• Ability to work under pressure and extended hours (10 hours/day).
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with the main contractor and client.
• Immediate joiners preferred.
