Responsibilities:

The Quantity Surveyor/Estimation Engineer is responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. This includes quantity take-off, cost estimation, budget control, procurement, contract administration, and cost analysis. The role involves collaboration with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are executed efficiently and cost-effectively.

Duties include:

• Study drawings, BOQ, and contract documents to fully understand the project scope
• Prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs from drawings (tender & IFC)
• Assist in cost estimation and tender preparation, including checking supplier and subcontractor prices
• Monitor project costs and highlight any budget overruns or risks
• Verify Material Requisitions (MRFs) against project budget and specifications
• Identify and prepare variation orders (VOs) when there are changes or discrepancies
• Support in preparing claims and supporting documents (quantities, rate build-ups, etc.)
• Track site progress, prepare client invoices, and follow up for approvals
• Measure work done on site and prepare payment certificates for subcontractors
• Perform quantity take-offs for variations and final accounts
• Conduct regular site visits to verify quantities and progress
• Coordinate with site, engineering, and planning teams for accurate reporting
• Assist in preparing cost reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Support in project close-out and final account settlement
• Analyze tender document and prepare competitive bids

Skills, qualifications, and experience

To become Quantity Surveyor/Estimation Engineer, professionals should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or any related field.

Skills and experience can include:

• 3-5 years of Proven experience in cost estimation and quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software (AutoCAD, Planswift, etc.).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry regulations.
• A deep understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry standards is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Office management software
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
