SALARY: $45.00 hourly

SUMMARY:

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office pursues thorough, ethical and robust human trafficking investigations and prosecutions. To increase our investigative and prosecutorial capacity, we are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Civilian Digital Forensic Examiner to work on adult and juvenile human trafficking cases. The Civilian Digital Examiner will work collaboratively with the HT team and be responsible for conducting digital forensic extractions, extraction analysis, creating court exhibits and testifying.

It is required that the applicant pass a CORI/Background check.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience in law enforcement or computer forensics.
Ideal candidates will have five years of exposure to law enforcement practices, techniques, and evidence handling;
Certifications in Cellebrite/Axiom;
Fluent in Cellebrite/Axiom;
Prior criminal investigative experience;
Demonstrated ability to analyze cellular, computer and other electronic forensic extraction data;
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex digital evidence;
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to adhere to digital evidence best practices;
Manage all chain of custody best practices associated with the rules of evidence;
Ability to form investigative plans;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work well collaboratively;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Demonstrated organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to meet ethical obligations.

Desired:

Experience working on victim-based investigations,
Interest in working on human trafficking investigations,
Prior law enforcement experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaboratively work with HT prosecutors, law enforcement, investigators and victim witness advocates on commercial sex and labor trafficking investigations/prosecutions occurring in Plymouth County. The Civilian Forensic Digital Examiner will report to the Chief Prosecutor of the Human Trafficking Unit and will work with the Human Trafficking Unit team to:

Perform digital extractions of cell phones, computers and other digital devices;
Analyze extracted data;
Document findings in written reports;
Communicate findings clearly and effectively to prosecutor;
Create Court exhibits;
Provide testimony at grand jury;
Provide testimony during motion hearings and trials;
Identify potential cases of human trafficking;
Identify potential victims, witnesses and contributors connected with incidences of human trafficking in Plymouth County;
Attend Plymouth County Human Trafficking Task Force meetings;
Other duties as needed
