As a matter of fact, a very important difference in BEAD doing the service from other local design firms is the efforts we put in complimenting design tasks with a thorough research effort whether the latter goes into up-to-date design theories, building materials or new construction technologies.

It is by contradiction to policies of most of the practicing consultancy firms in the region, BEAD approaches the services of design and architecture as a sacred profession rather than a commercial business.

We currently operate out of our Abu Dhabi base, a decent environment of 500 sqm modern offices and employ 20+ high caliber professionals.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform structural analysis and design of buildings and infrastructure projects in accordance with applicable standards and codes.

2. Prepare structural calculations, reports, and technical specifications for project documentation.

3. Develop and review structural drawings, reinforcement details, and construction documents.

4. Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integration of structural systems with the overall design.

5. Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements submitted by contractors.

6. Conduct site inspections to ensure structural works are executed according to approved drawings and specifications.

7. Provide technical guidance during construction and project execution.

8. Ensure compliance with local authority requirements and submissions to Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Department of Municipalities and Transport during construction.

9. Investigate and resolve structural issues, design modifications, and construction challenges Review, comment, and raise recommendations to the Director of Construction Supervision, on Contractor’s materials and engineering submittals.

10. Assist BEAD’s team in matters related to construction works.

11. Ensure works are complying with the regulations of local authorities.

12. Contribute in technical meetings at site, as well as at Head office whenever required.

13. Clarify and respond to RFI and questions raised by the Contractor and provide solutions.

14. Coordinate with all other disciplines for works within the overall project.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of structural design principles for reinforced concrete, steel, and other construction materials.
• Familiarity with international design codes and standards.
• Understanding of geotechnical principles and foundation design.
• Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and structural detailing.
• Familiarity with structural analysis and modeling software such as SAP, ETABS and drafting tools like AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of UAE building regulations and engineering standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in structural engineering design.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and integrate structural systems effectively.
• Excellent technical reporting and documentation skills.
• Good coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to review and check engineering drawings and calculations accurately.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Capability to provide technical solutions during design and construction stages.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional membership or eligibility with recognized engineering bodies is an advantage.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with Department of Municipalities and Transport or other UAE engineering authorities is mandatory.
• Training or certification in structural design software and engineering standards.
• Must have 10 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis within engineering consultancy firms.
• Experience in designing residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings.
• Experience preparing structural design reports, calculations, and authority submission documents.
• Experience in construction supervision, structural inspections, and coordination with contractors.
• Familiarity with local authority submission procedures and approval processes in Abu Dhabi. Must have a minimum of 8 years specific experience in the supervision of related works at Hi-rise buildings; at all stages of construction and close out phase.
• Multi bilingual; fluent in English language, reading and writing, is a must.
• Good knowledge of contractual clauses and applications in construction as well as FIDIC contracts.
• Good knowledge of technical correspondence, writing and computer applications related to the industry.
• Having a PMP Certificate is an advantage.
• Well versed with IT and related design software as well as web-based applications.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
