Work Environment
This is a hybrid-eligible position, where Monday through Wednesday would be working in one of our offices, with Thursday and Friday eligible for work-from-home days. Office locations include: Bakersfield (CA), Roseville (CA), and Phoenix (AZ).
Job Overview
The primary purpose of a Claim Representative IV - Casualty is to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex commercial and complex personal lines casualty claims, including claims with potential for high value exposures and unique exposures. Specific experience in analyzing complex coverage issues, duties to defend, larger exposure bodily injuries, negotiating and directing outside counsel. Focus on managing expenses and understanding personal and commercial line policies, including issuance of Reservations of Rights and the application of coverage issues for appropriate resolution. Demonstrates superior claim service and produces appropriate claim settlements to our clients. It is incumbent upon this individual to understand regulations and the jurisdiction(s) involved in the claims being evaluated. Acts as a leader within the team, as well as a trainer and mentor to the casualty claim division.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
CPCU preferred
10+ years of claim experience, including a minimum five years’ experience in handling complex claim files.
Knowledge of Current claims laws, specifically civil and tort law and current trends in litigation and general liability in all states we do business in.
Good working knowledge of mathematics and common accounting practices which relate to gross and net income, understanding of business interruption elements or living-expense calculations.
Proven ability to comprehend contracts pertaining to relationships amongst insured parties and/or landlord/tenant/property management.
Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and communicate complex legal concepts and policy-contract interpretation in writing and orally
Plan, organize, and prioritize work under the pressure of critical deadlines interpretation in writing and orally
Maintain a valid Driver License and operate a vehicle

Salary Range: $96,193.00 - $160,322.00
The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
