An opportunity is available for a Claims Manager - Professional Conduct to join our Melbourne team, on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity will see you support our members through the management of their claims, providing expert advice every step of the way. This role is also responsible for assisting in the accurate maintenance, entry and reporting of claims data, file management and document production.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing member claims and investigations to support our members;
  • Provide guidance, advice and support in the indemnification of claims;
  • Proactively formulate a claims management strategy for the member, to achieve the best possible outcome;
  • Partner with Solicitors in the support of our members claim as required; and
  • Contribute to Avant's provision of claims services including special projects, writing articles and presentations.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in legal, health or business;
  • Previous demonstrated experience in insurance claims management is desirable;
  • A strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation;
  • A strong focus on time management and work management;
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system; and
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
