Claims Manager, Multinational Casualty

As the Claims Manager of Multinational Casualty you will play a critical role in leading a team that handles high exposure multinational casualty claims. This position reports to the Head of Primary Casualty Claims, Americas with whom it is expected that you will collaborate relative to the groups strategy on claim handling and best practices. You will manage a group of claims specialists with respect to technical claims handling, exceptional customer service, and business segment support, along with helping them to drive a performance culture of continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?

Lead and manage a team of multinational casualty claims professionals handling high-exposure multinational General Liability and Product Liability claims. Ensure management of coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving, and resolution in alignment with AXA XL’s Global Claims Handling Principles, service standards, and applicable regulations.

Collaborate with Underwriting teams on claim issues and trends, policy/endorsement language reviews, and marketing and business development activities.

Deliver superior customer service to policyholders and brokers; ensure consistent application of high service standards across the team.

Partner with internal and external counsel to manage litigation in a cost-effective manner; coordinate with legal teams to pursue optimal outcomes.

Identify strategic and tactical needs that can be addressed through technology, process improvements, or training; maintain close supervision of vendor management and expense control within the unit.

Focus on each team member’s performance, development, and success; contribute to talent development and succession planning.
You will report to the Head of Primary Casualty Claims, Americas.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:

Ideal candidate will have a background in Multinational Casualty claims and/or substantial experience in the oversight and direct handling of General Liability and Product Liability claims; proven ability to negotiate and settle large, complex claim files.

Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing claims handlers; ability to develop talent, manage performance, and maintain engagement.

Analytical mindset with sound judgment; initiative; ability to and drive results.

Proficient knowledge of multi-state insurance coverage law and claim regulations; dedication to customer service and diplomacy in broker and insured relations.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate, present, and influence stakeholders at all levels; capable of working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities.

Ethical and professional conduct with an impeccable reputation for integrity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; law degree or advanced degree preferred. Possession of applicable state adjuster licenses required.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 139,300-219,300.
Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
