Job Summary:
As a NY Workers Compensation Claim Specialist, you will be responsible for working with clients to review and process insurance claims. The NY Workers Compensation Claim Specialist will need to demonstrate a working knowledge of NYS WC law and statutory requirements. Use this information to create optimum outcomes for the safety group, the injured worker, and the employer. The NY Workers Compensation Claim Specialist will gather documents used to investigate claims, review documentation, and work with clients and the Carrier to determine the validity and compensability of claims. Additionally, the NY Workers Compensation Claim Specialist will be responsible for providing guidance and advice to clients on the claims process and working with insurance companies to manage and resolve claims.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of NYS WC law and statutory requirements.
Review and evaluate NY workers compensation claims for clients
Gather information used to investigation and determine validity
Able to calculate and recommend changes to reserves to reflect ultimate cost
Negotiate/evaluate settlements with insurance companies on behalf of clients
Knowledge of early return to work programs and 3rd party recovery opportunities.
Provide advice and guidance to clients on the NY Workers Comp claims process
Review and analyze trend data to identify potential trends and reserve inadequacies
Understand how the experience modification rating impacts policies
Provide exceptional customer service to clients
Deliver clear and concise presentations on claims and insurance matters
Foster and maintain an excellent working relationship with the NYSIF case managers, unit managers and business managers in each branch office.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in NY workers compensation claims processing or related field
Strong customer service and presentation skills
Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of claims management software
Strong investigative and analytical skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $87,550. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
