Claims Support Specialist

OVERVIEW:
County Risk Services, Inc., a captive third-party administrator for a public entity self-insurance risk pool, is seeking a highly qualified, team-oriented member to support its Claims Department position. Experience or familiarity with county government, political subdivisions, and self-insured risk pools preferred.

This position will provide general administrative support services to the liability and property claims staff, including correspondence, document production, editing and scanning; distributing mail and faxes; answering and routing incoming telephone calls or messages; data entry into Risk Management Information System (RMIS) software; preparing spreadsheets and reports; copying and filing.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Handling the day-to-day administrative functions of the Claims Department
  • Providing timely and accurate billing related to member claims within the member’s deductible, including follow up as necessary
  • Providing timely and accurate reports as requested
  • Handling low level claims as requested
  • Answering phones
  • Maintaining files

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Must possess a high school degree or GED equivalent
  • Aptitude for evaluating, analyzing and interpreting information
  • Ability to multi-task along with proven time management and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Candidates with insurance knowledge and/or experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required to periodically lift, move and/or transport boxes, supplies and equipment

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
