Claims Training Specialist

The Claims Training Specialist designs, develops, and delivers instructionally sound e-learning, web-based, virtual, self-guided, and instructor-led courses for internal clients on a variety of topics. The Claims Training Specialist will also design and implement performance support solutions, working closely with subject matter experts from across the organization. They will also maintain and update content in existing online and classroom-based courses.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide individual and classroom-style training to new hires and existing team members on claims and clerical processes and procedures.
  • Utilizes instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials, programs, and approaches.
  • Partners with internal subject matter experts in Underwriting, Claims, HR, Legal, and Compliance to design, develop, and manage solutions that drive performance and are consistent with internal standards and best practices.
  • Assists with the design and development of internally branded course curriculum, video learning, and user guides for courses and/or program components.
  • Build templates and coaching tools around our products and processes.
  • Recommends and integrates training improvement strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field is highly desirable.
  • Must have demonstrated ability & desire to learn multiple systems and processes quickly.
  • Must have the desire and ability to learn and effectively use eLearning software such as Captivate, Articulate, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Ability to apply Adult Learning Theory to instructional design and development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment under time pressure.
  • Ability to build and manage multiple partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are needed to communicate with partners and students, as well as internal and external organizations.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and proactive problem-solving methods and ability to handle unexpected problems constructively.
  • Flexibility and willingness to periodically extend workday/work week to meet defined timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
  • 1 year of Training Experience preferred.
  • 5 Years of Claims Experience preferred.
