Class 1 Night Trunk Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery , ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on Double deck trailers and commercial driving to contribute to our operations. The night truck leaves our depot @ 7pm every night Monday to Friday, delivers to Palletforce depot in Burton upon Trent then re loads and returns to our Depot

Responsibilities

• Operate Double deck trailer safely and efficiently during deliveries and collections
• Plan route effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly
• Secure cargo properly to prevent movement or damage during transit
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road
• Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed

Qualifications

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with Double Deck trailers
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in freight transportation
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently
• Ability to operate vehicle controls confidently and handle various weather conditions safely
• Prior experience in delivery driver roles is highly desirable
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues

Pay: £48,000.00 per year
