Class A CDL Driver with Hazardous Endorsement

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight efficiently and safely while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Candidate MUST be well versed with RCRA, DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, TCEQ, EPA, TAC, NRC, and DSHS regulations. Will be required to fill and certify a hazardous waste manifest. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes effectively.

Duties

Driver will be required to transport hazardous waste and chemical shipments from Houston home office to customer and vendors sites in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and further as necessary.

• Operate all equipment in a safe manner, including, but not limited to, PTO kit, automatic and manual transmissions, tires changes, vacuum tanker, etc.,
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment,
• Displaying consistent attention to safety in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations,
• Ensure all paperwork is accurate and valid for each shipment,
• Verify load count and type matches any shipping documents, such as Hazardous Waste Manifests and Bill of Ladings,
• Maintain DOT electronic logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including completing pre- and post- trip DVIR inspections,
• Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles, and report said issues to the appropriate repair shops,
• Drive trucks to weight and inspection stations,
• Comply with state and federal regulations, including, but not limited to, DOT, FMCSA, and PHMSA,
• Assist customers with loading and unloading of all materials,
• Any additional duties as assigned.

Experience

• Position will require overnight stays when necessary, to accommodate shipments.
• Experience in labeling lab pack and radioactive shipments a MUST.
• Enforce PPE requirements and OSHA safety regulations at all customer or vendor sites.
• Following and enforce Health and Safety policies at all customer or vendor sites.
• Adhere to all Operation and Supervisor policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
• Arrive to each job site in a timely manner and provide profession and courteous customer service
• Proven experience as a Truck Driver with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Experience in route driving and delivery driving is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating forklifts is a plus.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
• Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
