What We’re Looking For in You:

Skill and Experience:

  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.
  • Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load waste and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
  • Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and to the disposal site.
  • Safely climbing up on 20-yard, 30-yard or 40-yard containers (as much as eight feet high) to straighten out improperly loaded containers and tarp the containers, typically utilizing the auto tarper provided
  • Promptly clean up any spillage with a shovel or other tools when servicing roll-off containers or compactors
  • Successfully read route sheets and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or manager.
  • Communicate with all customers, dispatchers, and/ or others daily to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
  • Notify Dispatch or Management of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
  • Immediately reports all unsafe situations or accidents to Dispatch or Management
  • Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris. Also required to open and close gates and/or enclosure doors when servicing customer containers.
  • Safely get out of the truck at multiple locations, un-tarp the load, open the tailgate of the container (a hinged steel door up to 8 feet by 8 feet in size), and secure the back door in the open position to permit the safe dumping of the container. After dumping the container, the tailgate must be closed and secured prior to leaving the dump site.
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
