Duties

• Safely operate Class B commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling
• Deliver goods to customers efficiently, managing route driving schedules and maintaining punctuality
• Inspect vehicles daily for safety issues, perform routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical concerns promptly
• Secure loads properly on refrigerated trailers, flatbeds or tanker trucks to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all shipments and vehicle inspections
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving operations involving freight delivery
• Strong knowledge of route planning, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols for truck operation
• Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles with precision and control
• Familiarity with various truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
• Ability to handle forklift operations for loading/unloading cargo when necessary
• Excellent driving record with a commitment to safe driving practices and compliance with DOT regulations
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and interact professionally with customers
