    JOB GOAL

    To spearhead parental and community engagement at all levels of the Cartwright School District through outreach, communications, marketing, advertising, canvassing and translation & interpreting services.
    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, communications, marketing, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in multimedia content production.
    • Proven experience in video production and post-production, including creating video and/or audio content.
    • Proficiency with professional DSLR/video cameras and editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop).
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule and accommodate various shifts.
    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong understanding of crisis communications
    • Professional understanding of marketing analysis: including surveys, design campaigns and enrollment canvassing outreach

    • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
    • A valid driver's license
    • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a school district communications department
    • Bilingual required
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Plan, coordinate and lead parental & community district meetings
    • Act as district representative at community engagement events throughout the district
    • Craft district communications (in both English and Spanish) in the form of letters, robocalls, marketing materials and more in order to serve the Cartwright community
    • Act as spokesperson for the district and lead for the Communications Department when the Director of Communications is unavailable
    • Manage and train more than 200 district translators and interpreters
    • Manage all interpreting during parent/teacher conferences for the district
    • Serve as expert in the training of parent liaisons who require help at school sites
    • Interpret high priority IEP meetings where attorneys are involved
    • Responsible for proofreading materials distributed by district staff and schools
    • Responsible for interpreting all Board Meetings and PAC meetings
    • Responsible for translating all district newsletters, flyers and marketing materials
    • Coordinating media interviews on behalf of the school district
    • Responsible for crafting and administering all district surveys and disseminating the data to leadership in a clear and concise form
    • Help create all marketing and disseminate all materials for the Communications & Community Engagement Department
    • Strong social media skills
    • Responsible for assisting schools with marketing during large district-wide events
    • Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
    • Complete ongoing professional development such as attending the ASPRA & NSPRA conferences to remain up to date on standards and procedures.
    • Communicate and meet with parents regarding their enrollment plans through community canvassing and any opportunities for outreach
    • Manage and oversee the budget and accounts to ensure that the department remains financially fiscal.
    • Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan in collaboration with the communications department.
    • All other duties related to communications & community outreach
