Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and special education.
- Create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Use diverse teaching strategies and learning technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and informal assessments.
- Provide individualized support and tutoring to students requiring additional assistance or enrichment.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and safe learning space.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives such as early intervention programs or Montessori methods.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral incidents in compliance with school policies.
- Engage with parents and guardians through conferences and communication channels to discuss student progress and address concerns.
- Support children with diverse needs by working closely with special education teams or specialists trained in working with children with autism or other developmental challenges.
- Incorporate library services and literacy resources into daily instruction to promote reading fluency and comprehension skills.
- Contribute to school activities such as extracurricular programs, community events, or professional development workshops aimed at enhancing educational quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications or specialized training (e.g., Montessori certification) is preferred.
- Valid state teaching permit, license, or certification appropriate for the grade level(s) you wish to teach.
- Proven classroom experience working with children across early childhood or elementary levels.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies.
- Experience developing curricula that incorporate learning technology tools for interactive lessons.
- Demonstrated ability in classroom management, behavior management techniques, and creating inclusive learning environments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Skills in proofreading, writing, lesson planning, and curriculum development to ensure high-quality instructional materials.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment data analysis to inform instruction.
- Experience working with children with special needs or those requiring additional support is highly desirable.

Pay: $22.77 - $30.00 per hour
