Clearing and forwarding logistics officer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clearing & Forwarding Logistics Officer to manage and coordinate all customs clearance and freight forwarding operations. The role ensures smooth import and export processes, compliance with regulations, and timely movement of cargo while maintaining strong relationships with shipping lines, customs authorities, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customs clearance procedures for import and export shipments
• Coordinate with customs authorities, port officials, and shipping lines
• Prepare, review, and submit clearance documentation (BL, invoices, packing lists, certificates, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations
• Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to final destinations
• Coordinate with transporters, warehouses, and internal departments
• Resolve clearance issues, delays, or documentation discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and clearance activities
• Negotiate and monitor service providers and freight agents
• Provide regular updates and reports to management

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Minimum 2–5 years experience in clearing and forwarding operations
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and trade regulations
• Experience dealing with ports, customs, and shipping lines
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word); ERP experience is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
