Client Executive, Employee Benefits

Role Purpose:

The Account Executive will support the Employee Benefits team in administering and servicing group medical and life insurance portfolios. Responsibilities include managing operational tasks, credit control, premium collections, internal bookings, compliance checks, and policy management through Praktora. The role also supports portfolio growth by preparing comparative presentations, coordinating insurer and client communications, conducting market reviews, assisting with medical and group life placements, and helping develop insurer and client relationships. Additionally, the Account Executive will assist the Account Manager with risk assessment, quote analysis, client satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

Client & Insurer Servicing:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers and clients, serving as an additional point of contact for all queries.
  • Act as a key support contact for clients and insurers, managing day-to-day queries and ensuring high service standards.
  • Assist in the end-to-end administration of group medical and life insurance policies, including onboarding, endorsements, renewals, and claims coordination.
  • Support the Account Manager in managing client relationships and ensuring timely and accurate policy servicing.


Market Review & Placement:

  • Conduct market assessments and request quotations from insurers.
  • Analyse and compare insurance proposals, highlighting key differences in benefits, exclusions, and pricing.
  • Prepare professional, client-ready comparison presentations and renewal reports.
  • Support the policy placement process by negotiating with insurers to secure optimal terms for clients.
  • Assist in policy renewals, ensuring competitive terms while addressing any required adjustments or enhancements.


Operational & Administrative Support:

  • Manage internal documentation, compliance checks, and data entry into the Praktora system.
  • Monitor and track receivables, ensuring timely premium collections and supporting the credit control process.
  • Maintain accurate records of policy details, endorsements, and client communications.
  • Utilize the Praktora system to manage all insurance policies, track receivables, and ensure timely premium payments.


Portfolio Development:

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to grow the Employee Benefits portfolio through cross-selling and upselling initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of marketing materials and proposals for prospective clients.


Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure all activities are compliant with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of market trends, regulatory updates, and industry’s best practices.
  • Compile reports on client utilization, claims experience, and market insights.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree In Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or client servicing role, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Cert CII qualification is preferred or willingness to pursue it.


Key Competencies:

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and proficiency in preparing reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity with insurance systems (e.g., Praktora) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry practices.
