Job Summary:The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for providing direct one-on-one behavior therapy services to individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities. The RBT works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and follows individualized behavior intervention plans to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Implement behavior intervention plans created by the BCBA to address specific target behaviors and goals for each client.
Data Collection: Collect accurate and objective data on client behavior during therapy sessions, ensuring that data is recorded in a systematic and consistent manner.
Direct Client Interaction: Provide one-on-one therapy sessions with clients, using ABA techniques to teach communication, social, self-help, and other essential life skills.
Promote Skill Acquisition: Use positive reinforcement and discrete trial teaching to promote skill development and adaptive behavior.
Behavior Management: Implement strategies to reduce challenging or maladaptive behaviors, such as aggression, self-injury, or non-compliance.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized records of client progress, including data sheets, session notes, and progress reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with the BCBA and other team members, including parents and caregivers, to ensure consistent and effective treatment.
Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of ABA through ongoing training and professional development.
Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times during therapy sessions.

Work Environment:
RBTs may work in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, homes, and community settings. They often work with clients of all ages, but the majority work with children and adolescents.
The role of an RBT is essential in helping individuals with developmental disabilities lead more fulfilling lives by acquiring critical skills and reducing problematic behaviors. They play a crucial role in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and require a combination of training, patience, and empathy to succeed in their role.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
