Job Title: Clinic Housekeeper

Job Summary: The Clinic Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role supports infection prevention and ensures clinic areas meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Clean and sanitize exam rooms, patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas according to clinic protocols

Disinfect high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, light switches, exam tables, chairs, counters, etc.)

Follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines at all times

Properly handle, store, and dispose of waste, including biohazard materials when applicable

Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, hand sanitizer, and restroom supplies

Safely mix and use cleaning chemicals according to instructions

Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces

Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment needs to supervisor

Maintain cleaning schedules and documentation as required

Provide courteous interactions with patients, visitors, and staff

Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization methods, preferably in a healthcare setting

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Professional demeanor and respect for patient confidentiality

High school diploma or GED preferred

Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience, especially in a medical or healthcare facility, preferred but not required

Training in infection control or healthcare cleaning practices is a plus

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods

Ability to lift and carry up to 30–50 pounds

Ability to perform repetitive motions such as mopping, wiping, and vacuuming

Indoor clinical and office settings

Exposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids may occur

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
