Responsible for assisting the Research Finance Specialist with federal and international compliance regarding study financial activities of the department. Assist in ensuring that studies are properly coded and billed in conformance with departmental standards, and good clinical practices as set forth by federal regulations and international guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews and understands the sponsor’s budget and negotiates based on Ironwood Cancer & Research Center’s fee schedule

Monitors accounts payable activity including approval of invoices from local vendors and assuring charges are accurate per ICRC current contracts

Assists in maintaining focus on the aging report to ensure we do not have balances past the 90-day mark

Assists in assuring quality of department practices related to billing requirements per study contract, study budget and site policies.

Reviews revenue with Clinical Trial Finance Specialist, assuring that sponsor invoicing and sponsor payments or collections are done in a timely and accurate manner.

Specializes in clinical trial management system function and maintenance

Communicates and collaborates with research staff at the satellite sites to ensure all charges have been entered into Clinical Trial Management System correctly

Communicates with Code Capture as needed to ensure charges related to research have been adjusted appropriately from the patient accounts

Shows a thorough understanding of organization’s billing processes and assures research billing compliance for both patients and study sponsors on an ongoing basis

Assists in developing a process to ensure all visit activities have been entered in CTMS on a weekly basis

Assists in creating resources for use in training of new employees pertinent to CTMS use

Active in maintaining continued education and professional growth through participation in continuing education programs.

Communicates regularly with Research Staff about new study builds in CTMS as well as any updates to the system

Ensures all pharmacy charges have been invoiced to the sponsor
Minimum Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication

Organized and detail oriented.

Experience in Research or Finance with minimal oversite

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and Excel. CTMS experience a plus
Education/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Clinical Research experience
Certificate/Licenses/Registration
Maintain job related certifications (Human subject’s protection training, GCP, and protocol specific required training).
