POSTION SUMMARY

The Clinical Applications Coordinator supports the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the electronic health record (EHR), specifically Oracle Health (Cerner). This role serves as a key liaison between clinical staff and IT, ensuring the EHR supports efficient, safe, and effective patient care.

Responsibilities include system configuration, workflow optimization, troubleshooting, and end-user training. This position works closely with clinical departments to implement new functionality and improve existing processes. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Informatics.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and maintain the Oracle Health (Cerner) EHR system
  • Configure applications, workflows, and system settings to meet clinical needs
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with IT and vendors
  • Develop and deliver EHR training for clinical and support staff
  • Assist with implementation of new software, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, IT, and external partners
  • Monitor system performance and recommend process improvements
  • Promote data accuracy, integrity, and security across clinical systems
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams as an EHR subject matter expert
  • Document issues, solutions, and workflows; escalate complex issues as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:


MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

CAC I:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Healthcare certification (e.g., CNA, CMA, LPN) preferred
  • 2+ years of healthcare or IT-related experience
  • Basic knowledge of clinical systems and ability to train users

CAC II:

  • Associate degree in healthcare, IT, or related field
  • 2+ years of healthcare IT or clinical experience
  • Experience supporting or working with EHR systems preferred

CAC III:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of clinical applications support or 4+ years of clinical experience
  • Strong communication, training, and project coordination skills
  • Experience with EHR implementation, support, or optimization
