Job Title: Clinical Assistant

Department: Medical Services

Reporting To: Medical Director / Consultant / Medical Superintendent

Location: Octavia Hospital, Varanasi

Job Summary:

The Clinical Assistant supports doctors and consultants in providing high-quality patient care by assisting in clinical, administrative, and coordination activities within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care Support

  • Assist consultants and resident doctors during patient rounds, OPD, and procedures.
  • Record patient history, vital signs, and maintain updated patient files.
  • Coordinate with nursing and paramedical staff for timely delivery of care and investigations.
  • Ensure consent forms are properly filled and documentation is complete.

2. Clinical Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records (both physical and electronic).
  • Update case sheets, treatment orders, and progress notes as per consultant’s instructions.
  • Ensure proper discharge summary preparation and completeness before patient discharge.

3. Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise between consultants, nursing teams, diagnostic departments, and patient attendants.
  • Communicate updates regarding patient condition and investigations to the concerned teams.
  • Coordinate for timely collection of reports and ensure they are filed in the patient record.

4. Administrative Responsibilities

  • Support the medical administration in maintaining departmental logs, attendance, and reports.
  • Assist in audit and quality documentation (NABH-related).
  • Participate in training sessions, CMEs, and departmental meetings.

5. Emergency Support

  • Provide assistance during medical emergencies, codes, or rapid response situations.
  • Ensure availability of emergency equipment and consumables during shifts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: MBBS / BAMS / BHMS
  • Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in a hospital or clinical setup.
  • Skills:
  • Good knowledge of medical terminology and hospital protocols.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
