JOB TITLE: Clinical Asistant- Medical Scribe
Position Summary:
We are looking for an applicant who wants to go above and beyond the medical scribe role! An ideal applicant has a general knowledge of the medical field as well as the willingness to dive in to the innerworkings of daily clinical functioning. We are looking for an organized, detail oriented individual with a positive attitude! The Clinical Assistant/Medical Scribe must represent the clinic in a positive and professional manner. This applicant must have good customer service and communication skills. We are looking for an individual who can multi-task, communicate across departments, and work in a fast paced environment. The Clinical Assistant/Medical Scribe is an integral part of the team, assisting providers and nursing staff to increase efficiency and productivity. Essential Job Qualifications:
Essential Job Functions:
Work with physicians and mid-level providers to accurately document patient information in the EHR system (ECW is currently used by Axis).
Ensure billing and coding requirements are followed and billing information is entered into the progress note.
Schedule patient follow-up appointments.
Prescriptions: prepare for provider approval.
Follow MIPS protocol and ensure all measures are documented accurately
Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the provider by obtaining their medical information and measuring their vital signs, weight and height; confirming purpose of visit.
Assists Providers during the day: Lab orders, Creating/Printing MIIC, helps during exams by gathering any paperwork the provider may need at the time of visit (i.e. imaging reports if not already in chart).
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; administer medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; taking EKG; removing sutures; changing dressings.
Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Assists with stocking and cleaning exam rooms.
Ability to relate to the public regardless of racial, ethnic and economic status
Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA and PHI guidelines/regulations.
All duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
