Description
The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for a full-time clinical assistant professor position in the DNP-AGACNP/CRNA program.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science programs with a major in nursing have three tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Additionally, the School offers a dual-degree DNP-AGACNP/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program. The Bachelor of Science program with a major in nursing began in Fall 2021. The School also offers a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides instruction to Doctor of Nursing Practice (AGACNP/CRNA) students at the graduate level in the program courses and across other graduate level nursing courses as needed, based on qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrates competence in teaching.
- Creates innovative curricula utilizing experiential pedagogies and adult learning theory.
- Ensures course implementation according to curriculum approved student learning outcomes as well as the School of Nursing vision, mission and values.
- Engages in community service above and beyond faculty requirements.
- Engages in lifelong learning as evidenced by participation in professional and faculty development.
- Evidence of progressive participation and leadership of national/international professional organizations.
- Maintains clinical/professional experience in the field of accreditation of undergraduate and graduate-level programs, namely Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Council on the Accreditation of Anesthesia (COA).
- Functions as clinical coordinators and adjuncts as appropriate.
- Maintains compliance with COA accreditation standards and ongoing School and Program accreditation efforts.
- Development and refinement of Nurse Anesthesia curriculum materials within regulatory and professional guidelines/domains.
- Participates in recruitment, selection and enrollment of graduate students.
- Oversees off-campus clinical sites, off-campus clinical coordinators and graduate student clinical practice experiences.
- Serves as a professional mentor to graduate students completing doctoral projects.
