What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Coordinator RN, you will support the Manager or Executive Director of Patient Care Services with daily unit operations while maintaining a strong clinical presence on the floor. You will help coordinate staffing, support quality and performance improvement efforts, and ensure safe, effective, and consistent patient care. This role combines direct patient care with coordination responsibilities that support staff, workflows, and overall unit efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with daily unit operations including staffing coordination and shift coverage support
Maintain a strong clinical presence by providing direct patient care (majority of time on the floor)
Review staffing levels and skill mix to support safe and effective patient care delivery
Identify opportunities for improvement through audits, observation, and staff/physician feedback
Support performance improvement initiatives, action plans, and unit-based quality efforts
Assist with development, revision, and standardization of policies, procedures, and protocols
Support staff education, orientation, and ongoing competency validation needs
Provide coaching, support, and guidance to nursing staff and new team members
Track staff certifications, licensure, and required training compliance
Collaborate with leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care coordination and resolve concerns
What You Bring
You bring strong clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse with the ability to function effectively in both direct patient care and coordination responsibilities. You are skilled in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, with the ability to support staffing decisions, guide workflow needs, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. You demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a patient-centered approach to care, while fostering collaboration across teams. You are comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and continuous improvement aligned with Beacon’s mission, values, and The Beacon Way.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana
Strong knowledge of nursing care practices, equipment, procedures, and techniques used within the department
Working knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and standards
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
Strong customer service orientation
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of related nursing experience
At least 1 year of leadership or charge/coordination experience
Demonstrated ability to support staffing coordination and effective resource utilization
Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate group activities
Proven ability to promote teamwork and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams
Experience supporting or contributing to process improvement or operational initiatives
