Department Summary:

From pioneering a world-renowned fetal cardiology program to achieving the earliest successful fetal cardiac intervention in 2001, the Fetal Care and Surgery Center has been at the forefront of prenatal evaluation, diagnostics, counseling and offering comprehensive care and treatment for more than two decades. Today, we are the most comprehensive fetal intervention center in the Northeast, supported by more than 25 specialties across Boston Children’s to provide a full spectrum of diagnostics, research, and management for confirmed or suspected congenital anomalies.

Our extensive experience in fetal care has shown that the sooner we can accurately diagnose a fetal anomaly, the better the chances of survival and a higher quality of life. That’s why, in addition to our focus on diagnosing, treating, and caring for pregnancies with high-risk fetal conditions, we’re equally committed to cutting-edge research to enhance fetal and newborn medicine.

Our multidisciplinary approach means that you’ll receive a comprehensive care plan built around constant communication with you and your primary obstetrics team and access to a range of diagnostics, interventions and therapies, genetic testing and counseling, and other services.

Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Coordinator will collaborate to plan, organize and oversee the daily clinical operations of the Fetal Care and Surgery Center
Prepares staff schedules, requests and allocates resources and facilitates coordination of care/services to meet patient care operation requirements.
Develops, recommends and implements internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.
Selects, supervises, and evaluates nursing and clinical support personnel, and develops and provides staff education/development programs.
Leads and participates in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
Facilitates, monitors and participates in survey readiness and regulatory compliance activities/requirements.
Maintains standards for patient safety and quality of care and ensuring exceptional patient and family experience
Addressing topics that arise around patient and family satisfaction
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
BSN required, MSN preferred.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience (Surgical, Obstetric, or PICU/NICU
Leadership experience required
Excellent leadership, team building and collaboration skills.
Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories, and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge.
Communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate and problem solve

Licensure/ Certifications:
Current MA license as a Registered Nurse.
