We are seeking a hands-on Clinical Director to join our tight-knit team and play a key role in our continued growth as the premier destination for psychedelic therapy and integration in Texas and beyond.

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dynamic Clinical Director to provide hands-on leadership for our clinical operations at The Within Center. In this essential role, you will directly deliver high-quality psychedelic-assisted care while overseeing our small, intimate caseload—working personally with up to seven clients in our Retreat House setting and a few outpatient clients, for a total of approximately 7- 10 clients per week. Your leadership will ensure the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and client-centered care in our innovative ketamine-assisted therapy programs, while fostering a supportive, collaborative team environment grounded in empathy, excellence, and transformative healing. This is a rare opportunity to make a profound impact in a pioneering field, contribute to shaping the future of mental health treatment, and thrive within a purpose-driven, family-oriented culture on our beautiful ranch property in South Austin.

Duties

  • Provide hands-on clinical care, including direct facilitation and oversight of ketamine-assisted therapy sessions, integration therapy, and related services for Retreat House and outpatient clients (maintaining a personal caseload of ~10 clients/week).
  • Offer strategic and operational leadership for all clinical services, ensuring adherence to best practices, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance in psychedelic-assisted treatment.
  • Lead, mentor, and support our multidisciplinary clinical team (therapists, facilitators, medical professionals) to promote professional development, high standards of care, and a cohesive, compassionate work environment.
  • Develop and refine policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance safety, quality, and outcomes in psychedelic therapy and integration.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and the broader team to align clinical operations with our mission of pioneering transformative mental health care.
  • Monitor client progress, clinical performance metrics, and program effectiveness; analyze data and implement improvements to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and ethical guidelines specific to psychedelic medicine.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration across teams to maintain our patient-centered, holistic approach in a serene ranch setting.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven clinical experience in mental health treatment, ideally with background in psychedelic-assisted therapy, ketamine therapy, trauma-informed care, or related innovative modalities.
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership in managing small, multidisciplinary clinical teams in intimate or retreat-based settings.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and best practices in mental health and psychedelic medicine (familiarity with relevant standards highly valued).
  • Track record of implementing quality improvement initiatives and achieving positive client outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, empathy, and motivational skills to inspire teams and build strong client relationships.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Psychology, Counseling, Psychiatry, Nursing, Social Work, or a related clinical field; licensure as a mental health professional required (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW, MD, DO, PMHNP).
  • Prior experience in a senior clinical leadership role, preferably in outpatient, residential, or retreat environments, is highly desirable.
  • Passion for psychedelic therapy, integration, holistic wellness, and contributing to a family-like team culture.
