POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Informaticist I supports the analysis, implementation, optimization, and day-to-day use of clinical and business information systems for the Health First Integrated Delivery Network (IDN). The Clinical Informaticist I focuses on foundational workflow analysis, data collection, system testing, and end-user support, working under the guidance of senior informaticists and leadership. The Clinical Informaticist I collaborates with clinical operations, Information Technology (IT), and application teams to help in ensuring technology solutions align with existing workflows, promote patient safety, and support efficient clinical practice. The Clinical Informaticist I acts as an vital liaison between frontline users and informatics leadership, contributing to operational readiness and continuous improvement initiatives of the IDN.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
1. Assists with workflow analysis by observing current-state processes and documenting clinical and operational workflows; completes detailed workflow documentation and supports identification of improvement opportunities.
2. Supports with gap analyses to compare current workflows with desired future-state processes.
3. Participates in data collection and basic analysis activities to support defined clinical or operational problems.
4. Provides support in testing and validating clinical and business systems in collaboration with application analyst teams.
5. Delivers hands-on support to end-users to promote safe, effective use of technology.
6. Documents issues, requests, and resolutions in designated tracking or ticketing systems.
7. Collaborates with departments to support optimization of workflows and system use.
8. Supports Epic Triage and optimization activities actively, while ensuring to adhere to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
9. Communicates effectively with informatics peers, application teams, and operational stakeholders.
10. Collaborates well as a member of project teams, supporting assigned tasks and deliverables.
11. Adheres to defined service level agreements (SLAs) and IDN standards and best practices.
12. Complies with all healthcare regulations, privacy, and security requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
o Basic understanding of Epic modules and clinical information systems. o Foundational knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations. o Basic problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate clinical and technical concepts across audiences.
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
o Strong organizational skills, professionalism, and ability to learn new systems in a fast paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Epic certification. o Informatics or healthcare IT certification (e.g., NI-BC, CHTS, CPHIMS, etc.).
o Related certification from the Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS).
