Learn more at HonorHealth.com. Responsibilities: Job SummaryThe Clinical Informaticist Lead (CI-Lead) has mastery knowledge in a clinical discipline, technology, and other technology areas. They align technology with the organization's strategic objectives and use their informatics knowledge to teach others. The CI-Lead mentors team members, assists with professional growth, and educates on best practices. They collaborate with business operations to develop innovative solutions for clinician technology needs, guide team deliverables, escalations, and engagement. They will collaborate with department leadership for resource planning and workload balancing to ensure efficient and effective team performance.Essential Functions
  • Optimization: Identify and coordinate workflow improvement opportunities, lead analysis, facilitate the implementation, customization, and optimization of technology systems to meet the needs of clinicians and support effectiveness and efficiency. Identify opportunities for improvement, consistently measuring and showcasing organizational value. Troubleshoot complex issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests, contributing to root cause analysis. Evaluate impact of future technology solutions on business practices. Proactively research opportunities to leverage technology.
  • Rounding/Gemba: Engage in onsite interactions with end users via Gemba rounding. Promote team accountability, and ensure outcomes are achieved. Act as a liaison between teams and departments, develop and maintain effective relationships within HonorHealth and with external entities, and facilitate, coordinate, and prepare recommendations and presentations for key stakeholders.
  • Project: Co-lead or manage large complex clinical projects or programs with minimal guidance. Prepare workflow analysis, engage internal and external resources. Advise team members on project and change management resources for successful initiative completion. Assign project resources in partnership with department leadership. Monitor and ensure project objectives and deliverables are achieved.
  • Professional Development: Maintain current knowledge of trends in clinical practice, healthcare informatics, and technology innovations to support continual optimization, while ensuring professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations. Develop and implement educational strategies to promote understanding of informatics principles. Provide mentoring and supervision, demonstrate leadership within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field, Computer Science or similar discipline – Required
  • Master’s degree in healthcare informatics or related discipline - Preferred
Experience
  • 3 years Clinical experience utilizing technology including electronic health records in an acute care and/or ambulatory setting - Required
  • 5 years Informatics experience; inclusive of roles in areas of patient safety, process/quality improvement, and/or project management. Demonstrates leadership development and some experience in a supervisory capacity. - Required
License and Certifications
  • Current licensure/certification (i.e. RN, Therapy, PCT, MA) in the state of Arizona – Required
  • Industry Clinical Informatics certification (ie. HIMSS, ANCC) within 1 year of eligibility of sitting for exam - Required
