Clinical Informatics Specialist

Join a team where clinical insight and technology come together to make care safer, smarter, and more connected. As a Clinical Informatics Specialist, you’ll sit at the intersection of frontline practice and digital transformation - designing, implementing, and optimizing clinical information systems (including Epic and integrated devices) across ambulatory, acute, critical care, perioperative, and allied health environments. This role is built for a naturally curious problem-solver who wants to understand the why behind workflows and outcomes, uncover root causes, and drive sustainable improvements that elevate quality, safety, and the patient/family experience - advancing Cincinnati Children’s mission to improve child health through innovation and integrated care

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

System knowledge & impact - Some direct / relevant experience to perform a range of assignments related to job discipline. Applies experience to accomplish difficult tasks

Implementation & training - Support the successful implementation, adoption, and interoperability of clinical applications/technology across CCHMC enterprise care settings. Support the planning and evaluating for the implementation of clinical systems and optimization enhancements (e.g. electronic health system modules/tools, clinical decision support, clinical documentation, patient safety, nurse call, and patient monitoring) by understanding and aligning needs for collaborative Interprofessional practice and patient family experience.

Consulting - Serve as clinical consultant in the design, implementation and evaluation of moderately complex process improvement for clinical technology projects. Plan for the integration of changes and revisions in practice, policy and education within Patient Services and communicate the changes as appropriate.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required - Bachelor's degree in a related field

Preferred - Master's degree in Informatics, or other relevant healthcare field

2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline

Clinical licensure (e.g. RN, RT)

Please Note: This role requires regular on-site presence at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, particularly during onboarding and training, with the potential for a limited remote component thereafter based on role requirements and operational needs.
