Description

The Clinical Instructor Nurse is responsible for educating, training, and mentoring nursing staff within the Home Care Services Department to ensure safe, competent, and high-quality patient care in community and home settings. The role focuses on clinical competency development, adherence to nursing standards, and continuous professional development in alignment with organizational policies and Saudi healthcare regulations.

This position supports the delivery of patient-centered home care services by enhancing clinical practice, ensuring compliance with best practices, and promoting evidence-based nursing care.

Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Ensure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures
  • Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner

A. Clinical Education & Training

  • Plan, develop, and deliver clinical training programs for home care nurses.
  • Conduct orientation and competency-based training for newly hired nursing staff.
  • Provide hands-on clinical instruction, demonstrations, and supervised practice in home care settings.
  • Ensure nursing staff are competent in home-based procedures, infection control, and patient safety practices.

B. Competency Assessment & Evaluation

  • Assess clinical competencies and skills of nursing staff through observation, audits, and evaluations.
  • Identify training needs and develop individualized learning plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of training, competencies, and evaluations.

C. Clinical Practice Support

  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff in complex or high-risk cases.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and adherence to clinical guidelines.

Support implementation of new policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.

D. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure nursing practices comply with MOH, SCFHS, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits related to home care services.
  • Support incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

E. Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with Home Care Managers, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient care delivery.
  • Coordinate with Nursing Education, Quality, and Infection Control teams.
  • Provide feedback and reports to nursing leadership on staff performance and training outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) (required).
  • 5–8 years of nursing experience, with at least 2–3 years in home care, community nursing, or clinical education.
  • Strong knowledge of home care nursing practices, patient safety, and infection control.
  • Experience in adult learning principles and clinical teaching methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Saudi MOH regulations, SCFHS requirements, and healthcare quality standards.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently in community settings and manage multiple training activities.
